Clock Of Time - Pestilent Planet LP

Debut album from a relatively new group out of Berlin featuring largely expat members of Diat, G.L.O.S.S., Idiota Civilizzato, Vexx, and Useless Eaters. A tight LP of relentless post-punk pummel with echo/chorus'd out atmospherics that taps into an end-of-times sentiment without coming across overly doomy or nihilistic (although there's still a healthy enough dose of that there too). As though Low Life relocated from Western Sydney to the streets of Berlin, trading in the Spurs scarves for some Bundesliga team. Which is to say, this is a release that bucked my instinctual eye roll reaction to a lot of Berlin-based music! -Mitch
