Listening to this tape-on-LP by Ruido De Rabia I think to myself, why have I never spotted this bands name on a single battle jacket, pair of crust pants or screen-printed bum flap???? They've got everything going for them: contrast-y artwork (perfect for amateur silk screening), obscurity points, and they're from a particularly under documented area for punk/metal, Basque Country.
Formed out of the remnants of Tortura Sistematika in 1985 Ruido De Rabia had moved towards an early Earache Records mode of extremity by 1992. While they are destined to remain a footnote in thrash/core history I'm finding this record really enjoyable, a charming and crude mix of grindcore, punk and crust that reminds me of the grotesque fun to be had in the debut LPs by Napalm Death and Carcass. It's crude, it's absurd and occasionally both rockin' and hilarious! -Nic
