On the latest Troth 7” the duo push even further into song-based territory, but still with familiar palettes and themes. Full of delayed- and verbed-out hip hop samples and floating synth lines—even a spooky harpsichord on the B-side—this release seems to take an even further step to highlighting Amelia Besseny’s vocals and lyrics. The splintered field recording samples of Flaws In The Glass seem to here be replaced with Besseny’s pastoral lyricism that that echos the folky psychedelia of Vashti Bunyan, but still with the ethereality of last releases. Yet another in a killer line of releases!
