Behold, the return of Parsnip!
Another album of 60s-inspired psych pop that is undeniably them: incredibly catchy hooks, close vocal harmonies, as well as ambitious riffs and songs structures.
But the latest also sees a slight departure from the whimsical technicolour surrealist writing of their previous LP, with the songs that are more grounded in the nitty gritty immediacy of life.
Jen’s more across the musical ground that Parsnip covers than I am, and says she reckons it recalls the baroque-pop stylings of Sagittarius meets Dolly Mixture meets The Kinks meets Kleenex.
