What's Jake up to this time?? He hasn't shortened the moniker to Mr Nosejob and spearheaded the electro-clash revival.... yet. In fact 'Paint It Clear' is the least hyperbolic chapter in Alien Nosejob history. A record that highlights his songwriting ability!

While there's a fair few potential reference points crammed in these grooves, it certainly feels cohesive. My one sentence takeaway would be Dangerhouse Records adjacent New Wave meets songwriting-centric 60s psych in a way that kind of reminds post-Machine Gun Etiquette, pre-Goth The Damned.
